Fall 2025 Fishing Report:
The Big Horn River is flowing 1103.6 as of this report. The river never got much above this flow all year, so the river is mossy and nymphing and streamer fishing are difficult. That said the dry fly opportunities have kept the fishing fun.
The North Platte has better water flow at 1503 cfs and we've seen better hopper fishing here with better water conditions. The North Platte has several sections below different dams keeping water cooler and fish more active.
The Green below Fontenelle is 699, pretty low for this time of year. Being below the dam, the water does stay cool so the fishing for the first few miles has been good. Kokanee and browns will start to move up with the cooler weather ahead.
The Shoshone below Buffalo Bill is 1121.8 cfs, a good water flow for this time of year and an exciting float. This is pretty extreme floating and is only suggested for experienced boaters. We don't see large fish compared to other tailwaters, but the fish are eager to bite streamers and dries.
